If you are passionate about helping others by becoming a manager, researcher, educator, or expert in the healthcare industry, you should consider earning a Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) degree.<\/p>\n<p>DHSc graduates are eligible to work at the uppermost levels of the health and wellness field, as their doctorate prepares them for a career in health leadership. With three start dates per year\u2014spring, fall, and summer\u2014this online model allows students to continue working while advancing their health sciences careers.<\/p>\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgeport.edu\/academics\/programs\/health-sciences-dhsc\/curriculum\">61-credit program<\/a> includes the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>18 credits of core coursework<\/li>\n<li>The choice of one 12-credit specialized concentration track\n<ul>\n<li>Clinician<\/li>\n<li>Clinical Nutrition<\/li>\n<li>Education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>18 credits of electives<\/li>\n<li>13 credits for the dissertation and seminar<\/li>\n<li>Four-week virtual residency at the end of the program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our program ensures students hone their skills in research, evidence-informed care delivery, education, curriculum development, and public health. Students can complete UB\u2019s Health Sciences DHSc online program in three years.<\/p>\n<h2>Health Sciences Concentrations Available Through the DHSc<\/h2>\n<h3>1. Clinician Concentration<\/h3>\n<p>The clinician concentration focuses on managing the clinical aspects of a healthcare facility and improving its outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion of this concentration, you will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design strategies to improve clinical practice guidelines, clinician performance, and improved outcomes in a healthcare environment.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with your staff to address shared goals, like improved efficiency or satisfaction among patients and healthcare providers.<\/li>\n<li>Examine gaps between the outcome of best practice and the current practice in healthcare facilities and environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Classes in the clinician concentration at UB include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lifestyle and Health Issues<\/li>\n<li>Health Promotion and Disease Prevention<\/li>\n<li>Integrative and Complementary Medicine<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Disease Processes and Treatment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2. Clinical Nutrition Concentration<\/h3>\n<p>The clinical nutrition concentration consists of four courses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced Clinical Nutrition I<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Clinical Nutrition II<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Clinical Nutrition III<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Clinical Nutrition IV<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These courses allow students to focus on integrative nutrition and functional medicine in metabolic and cardiovascular health, digestive health issues, chronic and degenerative diseases, and integrative nutrition and functional medicine in neurological and behavioral disorders.<\/p>\n<p>Each course also includes critical assessment and evaluation of current Evidence-Based Nutrition (EBN) and other interventions.<\/p>\n<h3>3.
